Race Review - Double Header

Some days we just feel like running two events.

This time, our buddy, Missy went with us.  Our first race was an Easter Egg run.  Again, it was cold.  This cold crap was getting old.

As cold as it was, they had snow cones....really?  Brrrrrrr, no thank you.

This was a typical 5k.  The person giving instruction had no amplifier therefore it was hard to hear him.  It was a count down start and we were off.  It went though a fairly busy area.  There was sidewalk for most of it but we had to run on the road and through a business area for a portion.

The route went through a nice subdivision and then back towards the start, making a large circle.

At the finish, there was a cute medal and bananas.  I was the first of our small group to cross the line.  So I sat and waited for the rest of our group.

Once our group gathered, we headed to our second race.

Our second one was a virtual race that we decided to meet up at a park and run.  Everyone brought food and drinks and we just visited for awhile and enjoyed the sun (even though it was still cold!

While I knew the group was waiting for the race director of the virtual race so she could walk it with us and take pics, I was growing impatient.  Most of the people there didn't have quite as far a drive as we did and it was going on a couple hours.  Was anxious to get it going.

Finally we were off.  We all started together, then Matt, Missy and I broke off and jogged/walked the trails.  They were nice but not as nice as Eagle Creek.  We kept coming back out into the parking lot.  It was a small trail for people to walk on, not really designed for running.  But we enjoyed it and once we got back, we had to wait on the others and snapped a picture then headed out.

It was nice to do the virtual with the group but hated being on everyone else's time who wasn't in much of a hurry.  haha!
