I am unsure the company that hosted it but Matt was excited because it was a color run with bling. He ran a zombie run there a couple weeks prior and said how it was a joke. So, we were hesitant but thought surely this wasn't the same company.
We drove the 1.5 to the event. It was a nice park. Once we got there, we got our packet which already included our "medal" and I use that term loosely. It was a dog tag. Call it what it is. We could have left then. But we stayed. It was 3 loops on the paved walk/jog path and there were 4 people with 4 different colors, throwing it on you with solo cups. We barely got any on us. We walked the entire thing, enjoying each other's company and the beautiful day....but the race was a joke.
Not only was the bling pathetic, they gave it to us in "biohazard" bags, meaning they reused the bags from the zombie run. Plus our bibs were worn and looked recycled. I get it - you do what you can to have an event to raise money (this went towards Alzheimer) but at least put some effort into it....they are on our "do not register" list.
So the review of the event Color Fest 5K
Terrain - paved, park
Organization - if it was a grade, it would be an F
Cost - $15.00 and that was on sale
Time of the race - 10am
Overall - let's just say - never again
Swag - shirt (only went to a size L) and a dog tag
My Time -who cares?
Race #15 (36 total to date)
